About Us
The British Institute in Amman is the Council for British Research in the Levant's local institute in Jordan. We provide support and facilities to researchers and students in the humanities and social sciences, including a library, hostel, IT facilities, and workspace. We offer vehicles and field equipment for hire. In addition, we have a new initiative, in partnership with the Qasid Language Institute, offering British university based students and graduates the opportunity to study Arabic in Amman.
Membership of the CBRL is open to all and gives entitlement to all our facilities.
We are located in Tla' Al-Ali, Amman, a short walk from the American Center of Oriental Research (ACOR), the German Protestant Institute of Archaeology (GPIA) and the University of Jordan.
Office opening hours: Sunday to Thursday 8.30am – 5.00pm, excluding public holidays
